Obituary for J.R. Haymon
Funeral services for James Ralph “J.R.” Haymon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017, in the chapel of Myers Colonial Funeral Home, 3178 Hwy. 190 DeRidder, LA 70634, with Elders Wayne Painter, Truman Keel, and Jeff Mosley officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service and Myers Colonial Funeral Home DeRidder, LA.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Jeane’s Funeral Service, 100 E. Union St. Leesville, LA 71446. Another visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
J.R. was born on February 24, 1936, and passed away on May 15, 2017, at the age of 81. He was a minister for 53 years in Primitive Baptist churches across the United States and also traveled preaching the gospel. J.R. was one of the best insurance salesmen for Magnolia Life Insurance and sold many life insurance policies. He loved his children, grandchildren, fishing, squirrel hunting, and rabbit hunting with his dogs, but the thing he enjoyed the most was sharing the gospel.
J.R was preceded in death by his parents, Elias and Ruby Haymon; sisters, Phoebe Edwards, Floy Gorham, and Rometta Ann Haymon; and aunt, Mattie Haymon.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Estelle Haymon of Anacoco, LA
Sons: James Daniel Haymon and wife Christy of Merryville, LA and Randall Lynn Haymon Sr. and wife Tina of Leesville, LA
Daughter: Kim Jeane and husband Timothy of Anacoco, LA
Brother: Osville R. Haymon and wife Dorothy of Leesville, LA
Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, three nieces, three nephews, and a host of extended family
