Obituary for Hubert Troy Lawrence
Funeral services for Hubert Troy Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Simpson Baptist Church with Reverend Jeremy Blocker officiating. Burial will follow in Welcome Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Trent Lawrence, Troy Gann, Shane Gann, Mack Stuckey, Jarrod Martin, and Kevin Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Caysen Ingram and Kaven Lawrence.
A visitation will be held at Simpson Baptist Church from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4th.
Troy was born January 7, 1930, in Long Leaf, Louisiana and passed away peacefully at his home in Simpson, Louisiana January 2, 2023, at the age of 92. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Endicott. Afterwards, he settled again in Louisiana where he worked as an electrician and also installed air conditioners. Troy was dedicated to his customers and did all he could to take care of them. He was always busy working or taking care of his cattle. Troy was a jokester and had a great sense of humor.
Troy was preceded in death by his parents, William McKinley Lawrence and Lillie Mae Phillips Lawrence; sisters, Joy Lawrence and Mildred Goulett; and brother, Jay Lawrence.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Margie Cedars Lawrence of Simpson, LA;
son, Ronnie Lawrence and wife Shirleen of Sulphur, LA;
daughters, Beth Bush and husband Gary of Kurthwood, LA, Susan Martin and husband Dannis of Simpson, LA, and Lisa Gilmore and husband Todd of Augusta, KS;
grandchildren, Mack Stuckey and wife Jacie, Jessica Ingram and husband Jayson, Trina Gann and husband Shane, Trent Lawrence and wife Mallory, Kevin Martin and wife Kaylee, Kaitlyn Gilmore and fiancée Connor, Jarrod Martin and fiancée Tiffany, and Tori Gilmore;
great-grandchildren, Peyton, Alarie, Dalton, Caysen, Troy, Tory, Kinley, Kaven, Mila, Lanie, Abby, Maddie, and Bentley;
special friends, Tammye, Billie, Sammy & Karen Edwards and Whitney Martin;
and extended family members.
