Obituary for Hubert Haymon
Funeral services for Hubert Haymon will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Canaan Baptist Church, 11:00 AM with Bro. Jason Nolde officiating. Burial will follow in Canaan Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Hubert Haymon was born on August 10, 1930, in Peason Ridge, LA to Azzie and Jeannie McKee Haymon. He passed away on January 8, 2022 in Lafayette, LA at the age of 91. Hubert was born and raised in Vernon Parish. He began working at a young age and developed a wonderful work ethic. He began driving a truck for DeSoto wholesale, then began to work for the city police. He was the deputy sheriff for Vernon Parish for many years until his retirement. He also enjoyed planting trees, baling hay, and working with his brother in law. He was a very independent man that enjoyed working and providing for his family. He and his bride of 69 years, Joyce, loved to travel together and raised a wonderful family. Hubert was very proud of his grandsons and truly enjoyed everyone getting together.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dois Hagan, Ruby Thornton, Adell Wilbanks, Faye Littleton, Vivian Ray, Lois Haymon, Beaulah, Nona, and Ola, brothers, Harold, Manuel, Jack, Scott, Hester, and Mitchell Haymon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Kay Haymon of 69 years of Youngsville,
daughter, Pam Berwick and Gregg of Youngsville,
sister, Idell Hunter of Anacoco,
grandchildren, Brent Berwick and Christine of Youngsville, and Brad Berwick and Crystal Fitzwater of Lafayette,
and a host of extended family.
