Obituary for Howard Wilson Lewing
Funeral services for Howard Wilson Lewing will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, 2:00PM at the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville, LA with Rev. Mark Christian and Rev. Shannon Buxton officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery, Anacoco, LA under the direction of Jeane"s Funeral Service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville, LA from 5:00-9:00 PM. Howard Wilson Lewing was born on May 5, 1935, to Travis and Nettie Lewing in Anacoco, LA and passed away on March 13, 2016, in Houston, TX, at the age of 80. He proudly served his country completing two tours of duty during the Korean War. He worked at Ft. Polk for 32 years as supervisor over the carpenter shop. Also, Mr. Lewing was the owner/operator of H&N Trucking of Wakefield, VA. He loved to hunt, fish, and watch the Lady Wolverines of U-Conn play basketball. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and his special friends, "Rosco P Coltrane" Lewing and "Bear-Bear" Lewing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Nettie Lewing, wife, Julianna Clemons Lewing, and brothers, Huey R. Lewing and Rev. Travis "Wayne" Lewing. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Nancy Holland Lewing of Spurger,TX Sons: Keith Lewing and wife Carol of Anacoco, LA, John W. Lewing, Sr. and wife Talitha of Anacoco, LA, and Chris Jenkins and wife Crystal of Suffolk, VA Sister: Christine Marcus of Baytown, TX 16 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren Words of comfort may be extended to the family at www.jeanesfs.com .
