Obituary for Henry Leo Shira
Funeral services for Henry Leo Shira will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Jeane’s Funeral Service, 100 E. Union St. Leesville, LA with Reverend Wesley Manning officiating. The service will be lived streamed on Facebook (Jeane Funeral Service) and will be available to view afterwards as well. Burial will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held Sunday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Henry was born December 29, 1957, in Seaside, California and passed away August 11, 2021, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 63. He had a green thumb and if something had a seed, he would try to grow it. Henry loved to fish and spent many hours researching and admiring old trucks. He touched many lives with his outgoing personality and never met a stranger. Henry was a member of Hope Springs Pentecostal Church and loved God with all his heart. His brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren were all special to him. His wife, Pattie, was his best friend and, they were almost always together.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Allen Shira and Violet Bertha Shira; grandmother, Granny Mildred Cooper; mother-in-law, Hilda Hunter; and father-in-law, Ray Hunter.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 26 years, Pattie Shira of Leesville, LA;
son, Josh Shira and wife Whitney of Leesville, LA;
daughters, Kayla Bolgiano of Leesville, LA and Tiffany White and husband Scott of Willow, AK;
brothers, Don Shira and wife Connie of Leander, LA, Ed Shira and wife Donna of Houston, TX, and Bill Shira and wife Teresa of Anacoco, LA;
sisters, Mamie Hiton and husband Franklin “Kiko” of Guam and Violet Pritchard and husband Gary of Lawndale, North Carolina;
grandchildren, Willow White, Brooke White, Nadia White, Katlyn Shirley, Aiden Bolgiano, and Adley Shira;
nieces and nephews, Nina Michel and husband Tobin, Brant Chaney, Shay Grigg and husband Adrien, Kristie Savage and husband Jimmy, Billy Shira and wife Tara, Theresa Pangelinan and husband Jesse, Joe Hiton, and Fred Pritchard and wife Kristen;
special friends, George & Joyce Ferguson and Eusebio & Bobbie Rodriguez;
and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joshuah Shira, Bill Shira, Ed Shira, Don Shira, Eusebio Rodriguez, and David Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Shira and William Shira.
Henry’s family extends a special thanks the staff at MD Anderson and Byrd Hospital and Doctors Aymond and Mercke and Byrd Hospital.
