Obituary for Hector Luis Santos
Funeral services for Hector Luis Santos will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at The Church House with Reverend Lorainne Smith officiating. The burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. The pallbearers will be Jared McMahon, Malcolm Fleming, Waymon Robinson, Andrew Gwinn, Lane Santos Gwinn, Felix Abshire, and Daron Reeves.
A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, August 7th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Hector was born November 18, 1947, in Penzula, Puerto Rico and passed away August 4, 2023, in his home in Hicks, Louisiana at the age of 75. His family settled in Leesville after his father’s military career, and Hector became a resident of the Hicks Community for over 50 years. For many years he worked for West Louisiana Ice where he restored and repaired ice machines. Hector enjoyed being outside fishing, hunting squirrels, and gardening. One of his favorite pastimes was watching wrestling but most of all he loved spending time with this family.
Hector was preceded in death by his parents, Luis E. Santos and Hipolita Ramos Santos; brother, Samuel Luis Santos; and granddaughter, Abbigail Cheyenne Gwinn.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Christy Jeanette Calender Santos of Hicks, LA;
daughters, Carmen Faith Robinson (Waymon) of Hicks, Jennifer Christina McMahon (Jared) of Sugartown, LA, Heather Nicole Fleming (Malcolm) of Hicks, and Danielle Robin Santos of Houston, TX;
grandchildren, Lane Nathaniel Santos Gwinn, Andrew Gwinn, Kinsley Gwinn, Dominique Santos, Kennadi Santos, Rosalind McMahon, Paisley McMahon, and Isiah Santos;
brothers, Luis E. Santos Jr. of San Antonio, TX, and Luis Santos of Anacoco, LA;
sister, Rosa Gill of Liberty, SC;
one great-grandchild on the way; and a host of extended family members and friends.
