Obituary for Hannah Vee Wellman Leonard
Funeral services for Hannah Vee Wellman Leonard will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday December 28, 2019 at Walnut Hill United Pentecostal Church with Reverend Dale Mortensen officiating. Burial will follow in the LaCamp United Pentecostal Church Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held for Hannah Leonard at Walnut Hill United Pentecostal on Friday December 27, 2019 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Mrs Hannah Leonard was born January 16, 1942 and passed from this life to her heavenly home on December 26, 2019 in her home surrounded by loving family at the age of 77. She was a graduate of Hicks High School and later married the love of her life, Dalton in 1960. After their marriage, they moved to Houston, TX where she worshipped and worked in several UPC churches working in planning, decorating, and catering for ladies’ meetings and conferences and minister’s conferences.
Hannah received the Holy Ghost at the age of 10. She was a woman of God with unwavering faith who put her heart into her church and family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye.
Mrs. Leonard was preceded in death by her husband Dalton Ray Leonard; parents, Riley Clifford Wellman and Reddie Dee Wellman; and brother and sister-in-law Dr. Wendell Wellman and Dr. Nelda Wellman.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Donna George and her husband Bobby George of Leesville, LA; VeLinda Gail Jones and her husband Michael P. Jones of Houston TX,
sisters, Glenda Lewis of Leesville LA, Shandra Hood and her husband Glen Hood of Leesville LA,
brother, Elray Wellman and his wife Sharon Wellman of LaCamp LA,
grandchildren, Alayna George, and fiancé Tim Nicholson, Raymond, Haley, and Michael Jones Jr. and his wife Tiffeny Jones,
great grandchildren, Kenrick and Devin Gary, Colby and Cassidy Jones, and Bryce Nicholson, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lawayne Self, Dusty Harper, David Hicks, Dwayne Poe, Rodney Owen, and Marlon Gilcrease.
