Obituary for Gwendolyn I Jeane

Homegoing service for Gwendolyn Muriel Icker Jeane will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Burr Ferry Pentecostal Church at 2:00 PM with Reverends Roger Herrington, Randy Wead, Phil Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at the Burr Ferry Cemetery, Hwy. 111, under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be David Nash, Aaron Nash, Tanner Nash, Trenton Nash, Casey Free, & Vernon Thibodeaux. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jason Nash, Karl Grevemberg, & Phil Dunn.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 12:00 PM until service time.

Mrs. Gwen Jeane was born on November 4, 1936, to Elwood and Elinor Rogers Icker in Irvington, New Jersey. She passed away at her residence on October 31, 2023, at the age of 86. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. She retired from South Central Bell, Bell South, and AT&T phone company after thirty years as a telephone operator. She loved playing her piano, organ, and working in her yard. She was a member of Burr Ferry Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Milford Ray “Pete” Jeane, parents, Elwood and Elinor Rogers Icker, brothers, Richard and Ralph Icker, sisters Evelyn Bray and Lynn Wilson.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda and Harvey Nash, and Barbara and Rocky Jordan of Burr Ferry,

sisters-in-law, Peggy Icker of Lady Lake, FL, and Nancy Icker of Apopka, FL,

brother-in-law, Del Bray of Wilmington, NC,

grandchildren, Jason Nash, Aaron and Julianna Nash, David and Jennifer Nash, Tiffany and Vernon Thibodeaux all of Burr Ferry, and Kelli and Jessica Mendoza of Hornbeck, Tanya and Randy Wead from Ozark, AR,

great grandchildren, Judah Nash, Tanner and Madison Nash, Trenton and Brittany Nash, Kylie, Jasmine, Kaydee and Jaylee Brack, Madison and Casey Free, Triniti Bridges, Myles Pennington, Jacy and Cooper Cobb, and Miranda, Maura and Marlin Wead,

great great grandchildren, Chloe, Scarlett, Owen, and Samuel Nash, and Kohen Free,

honorary granddaughter, Ashley Wunschel,

and host of family, extended family, and friends.

The Jeane family would like to thank the following caregivers for the loving care they provided over the past 3 years: Tina Hampton, Mary Rivers, Penny Hillman, Stacy Kennamore and Beckie Laurence. They would also like to thank Hospice of Leesville for their support and exceptional care during this time.
