Obituary for Gloria Reeks Owers
Gloria Reeks Owers, 79, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Gloria was born September 7, 1939, in Anacoco, Louisiana to Lester George Reeks and Lillie Almeda Mitchell Reeks. She was a resident of Groves for twenty-five years and a self-employed healthcare provider. Gloria was a current member of McLewis Church of Christ in Orangefield, and a former member of West Groves Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeannine Allen and husband Merle of Little Cypress, TX and Melodie Willis and husband James of Groves, TX; brother, L. Arneil Reeks of Dubach, LA; grandchildren, Kelly Marshall Bonura, Jody Marshall and wife Leslie, Jeffory Willis and wife Kayla, Ashley Vandiver and husband Jarred, great grandchildren, Julia Bonura, Spencer Bonura, Christina Goodwin, Emmaylnn Marshall, Holden Willis, and Ella Willis, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for the family and friends of Mrs. Owers will be held Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, TX from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019, at the funeral home with Mr. Jeff Trahan officiating. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA with Mr. Doug Crain officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service and Levingston Funeral Home.
