Georgia, the daughter of George Kenneth and Dovie Arena Goins Roberts, was born on February 22, 1942, in Mora, LA and passed away October 12, 2017, in Alexandria, LA
She was graduate of Natchitoches Central High and retired from the Vernon Parish School District as a cafeteria worker. Georgia was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville, LA. She devoted her life to making a warm, loving, and music-filled home for her family. She was an excellent home-cook and innately understood that nothing could bring people together like a good meal. Mrs. Gibbs was also a prayer warrior who interceded in prayer for her family, pastor, and church. Sunday was her favorite day of the week, and she loved to join in the congregational singing with her beautiful alto voice. Georgia and her beloved husband, James, were married for over fifty -one years. Their children are Jennifer, James II & Mary, and John & Carissa Gibbs. Her precious grandchildren are Richard II & Annette, Stephanie, Kenneth & Ricci Waterman; Lt. David Adamski of Avondale, AZ; Sam & Kayla Queen; Ashlyn, Jathan, and Bowen Gibbs. Her extraordinary great-grandchildren are Jenaleyse, Georgia, Elijah, James, Wesley, Brooklyn, Brennan, Jason, Mason and Bailey. Cherished siblings are Kitty & John Burns and Willie Dell & Freddie Boswell; Dola & Marvin Wheeler, and Albert Gibbs. There is a host of wonderful other family members whom she adored including Sherry, Randy, Brenda, Callie, Beth, Joy, Andrew, and Angela.
Preceding Mrs. Gibbs in death were her husband, James Gibbs; parents, George and Dovie Roberts; brother Kenneth Roberts; sister, Marguerite Roberts; and precious grandson, Joshua Gibbs.
