Obituary for Genevieve Mills
Memorial services for Genevieve Mills will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 in the chapel of Jeane's Funeral Service, 100 E. Union St., Leesville, LA at 2:00 PM with Rev. Danny Baker officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. She was born in Bordeaux, France on February 7th, 1925 and passed away January 27th, 2015 in Leesville, LA at the age of 90. She served as a Red Cross nurse during World War II in France and helped with the French underground resistance by getting soldiers to safety. She was a resident of Leesville for the past 48 years and a member of the First Assembly of God church. She loved to cook, knit, and garden. Also, she was a big fan of the World Wrestling Federation and would often go to the Rapides Coliseum in Alexandria, LA to watch the live shows. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. She is survived by sons: John Rose Jr. of Pineville, LA, Steve Michael Rose (Yong Son Rose) of Leesville, LA. Daughters: Brigitte Parker (Phillip) of Nebraska, Nancy Hood (Darrell) of Leesville, LA, and Gladys Wolverton (Mark) of Memphis, TN She also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
