Obituary for Gene Fabian Martin
Funeral services for Gene Fabian Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 170 Pine Grove Church Road, Mora, Louisiana with Reverend George Parler officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Mora under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, January 20th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
Fabian was born October 10, 1959, and passed away January 18, 2022, at the age of 62. He was a life-long logger and had been working in the logging industry since the age of 18. Fabian was a man who loved simple things – working hard and loving his family. He liked to work around his homeplace mowing or fixing fences and caring for his horses and other animals.
Fabian was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. Martin and Claudia Brady Martin.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lori LeBlanc Martin of Leeville, LA;
children, Kayla LaField, Brandon Martin, Nathan Rains, and Gregory Martin;
grandchildren, Ava, Aliyah, Chandler, Lydia, Laine, Harley, Lilly, Carson, Taylor, Sabrina, and Boston;
siblings, Douglas Martin (Eloise), Bruce Martin (Joann), Sherry Martin, and Darrell Martin (Dixie);
and a host of nieces & nephews, who truly adored their Uncle Fabian, extended family members, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dannis Martin, Jared Martin, Richard Michel, Justin Fredieu, Kevin Martin, and Ricky Pelt. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
