Gaynell Williamson Ford, known as Nanny to all who knew her and loved her, was born on December 28, 1951, to parents Sam Williamson and Elma Courts in Kountze, Texas and passed away at her home in Hutton, Louisiana surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Growing up, Gaynell was number 8 of 9 children. She married William “Tommy” Ford on February 15, 1969. Her life was devoted to her family, and she was not often seen without one of her grand or great-grandchildren. Nanny was a friend to all who knew her. She loved deeply and was loyal to the core. She was always the first to offer to help not out of obligation but because of who she was. She truly left an impact on all who knew her but her greatest impact was on the lives of her family. Gaynell was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, and she will be remembered there for the beautiful gospel music she provided during Sunday services.

Gaynell was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Ford; son, Pete Williamson; grandson, Wesley Cole; parents, Sam and Elma Williamson; sisters, Ann Coleman and Linda Berube; and brothers, Billy, Donald, and Dickie Williamson.

Nanny is survived by her children, Shelley Floyd (Jeff) of DeRidder, LA, Christi “Spanky” Ford (Machelle) of Leesville, LA, Cody Ford (Kendra) of Hutton, LA, and Gregory Ford (Wendi) of Hineston, LA; daughter-in-law, Brenda Williamson; honorary sons, Cody Jordan “Fat Rat” (Ashley) and Mike Williamson;

eight great-grandchildren;
