Garry served in the United States National Guard for over thirty years. During his service, he gained many life-long friends. He was born and raised in Winnfield, LA and there also is where he met and married his wife, Linda, in 1984.
“As a child, I thought my daddy was the real-life superman. There was no one stronger, no one smarter, no one that worked harder and none as handsome as he was. As I grew in adulthood, I understood what really made him my superman. His character was unmatchable in my eyes. Every moment was a lesson and a chance to tell a joke. He was so funny. He was so personable and never met a stranger, ever. If he didn’t know you, he was about to know you. If I was to tell his life story, you’d think he was perfect. He wasn’t. But he was as close to it to me because he was self aware and self confessed in his life. The most important thing he taught me was how to love. He was my loving daddy as a child, my strong arm daddy as a teen, and my friend as an adult. His love for his family is immeasurable. He lived his life to the fullest. And I will miss him dearly.” Adriene
