Obituary for Freddie B. James Sr.
Funeral services for Freddie B. James Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Silver Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Rufus Goins officiating. Burial will follow in Rosepine Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
The family of Mr. James will be receiving friends for a visitation from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30th at Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Mr. James was born on February 21, 1939, and passed away on June 26, 2018, at the age of 79. He was a 1957 graduate of Rosepine High School and retired after a distinguished oil field career. Mr. James pulled himself up from his boot straps when he didn’t have any boot straps. He began his career as a floor hand and continued up the ladder by becoming a derrick man, driller, tool pusher, company rep consultant, superintendent, and general superintendent. Mr. James distinguished himself as a top consultant for Kuwait Oil and received many outstanding performance certificates. His team outperformed every other team during the Kuwait oil fires by putting out the most fires during the shortest period of time. Mr. James was a courageous man and an outstanding supervisor. He led by example and everyone enjoyed his leadership. Mr. James was a loving, giving, and caring man with a great sense of humor who loved to tell stories and jokes. He loved and honored his parents, brother, and sisters. After 46 years, he was reunited with the love of his life, his first wife Barbara.
Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents, Ersel and Jewel James, sister, Frankie Nichols, and niece, Lisa.

Ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews
Special friends: Josie Calhoun, sister-in-law Jeanette Jean, Susan Myer, Charnal Bailey, Kyle James, and Red Adair.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne “Sonny” James, Gary James, DeVaughn James, Lesley James, Floyd Dean Stanley, and Justin Stanley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Ray James, Wallace James, and Don Jean.
