Obituary for Frankie Lee Butler
Frankie Lee Butler was born December 17, 1956, to the union of Milton C. “Mutt” Butler and Carrie D. Maxie Butler. He passed away from this life on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Frankie suffered with health problems, but the real cause of his death was grief. Never have I seen someone grieve like he did. He just couldn’t get over the death of his loving wife Angela Denise Moreland Butler who died in September 2018 of breast cancer.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Angela Denise Moreland Butler; father, Milton C. “Mutt” Butler; mother, Carrie D. Maxie Butler; paternal grandparents, Julius Butler and Geneva Mathis; maternal grandparent, Willie T. Joiner; two brothers, Darnell R. Butler and Larry Ray Butler; and nephew, James Donnell Butler.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing six children, Nicolas Moreland (Dana), Nicole Moreland, Aaliyah Angela Butler (Ray), Frankie James Butler all of Panama City, FL, Sentell Monique Butler, and Tamesha Butler; granddaughter, Zoeyanna Dixon (his love); five brothers, Leon Brooks of Georgetown, TX, Milton C. “Sonny” Butler (Zella) of Leesville, LA, Clifton Butler (Debbie), Michael Butler (Sherry), and Cedric Butler all of Panama City, FL; eight sisters, Delores Carter of Panama City FL, Janice Dixon of Dallas, TX, Genevieve Burges (James) of Leesville, LA, Elmerlee Taylor (Bruce), Shonta Perry of Raleigh, NC, Tanye Carney, Katina Hicks of Leeville, LA, and Shameeka Ensley (Marco) of Dallas, TX; two uncles, Donnell Butler of Dallas, TX and Hoy Joiner of Leesville, LA; and host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Frankie attended Vernon Elementary School and Leesville Hight School. After finishing high school, he joined the U.S. Army and completed his tour of duty. He traveled to Germany and other places in the country during his tour of duty. After he got out of the army, he began working at Fort Polk for the Department of Defense for ten years. After he finished work at Fort Polk, Frankie worked for Shapkoff’s Moving and Storage until his health started to decline. It was during his time working at the moving and storage is when he met his loving wife, Angela Moreland. They had four loving children and lived in Leesville for a few years. Later, they moved to Panama City, Florida and remained there. Frankie was a loving husband and a good provider to his family. He had a great sense of humor. He would always make you laugh and always had a conversation for you. He loved all his kids very much.
Frankie accepted God as his Savior at an early age and continued to serve God at his church in Panama City, Florida under the leadership of Reverend Bruce Taylor.
Funeral services for Frankie will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Bethesda Ministries Church, 140 Section Line Road Leesville, LA.
