Francis was born on March 8, 1937, to George Washington Marsh and Minnie Ola Gorden Marsh. She passed away on February 26, 2017, at the age of 79. Francis graduated from Pisgah High School and played basketball there. She worked as a telephone operator and as a very skilled nurses’ aide in pediatrics at Fort Polk. After over thirty years, she retired. Some of the things “Dean” enjoyed in her spare time were hunting for arrowheads, old bottles, wild grapes and muscadines, and researching her family’s genealogy. As she became less mobile, Francis enjoyed visits and phone calls from her family and friends, reading or watching TV, bird watching, admiring the flowers in bloom, and snuggling with her great grandson. Francis loved all of her family, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much joy.
Preceding her in death were her parents – George and Minnie Marsh, one brother – Thomas Kramer, two sisters – Marzell Krumholtz and Rosie Snell, and brothers-in-law – Thomas Sveda, Charles Krumholtz, and Rex Snell.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter – Sharen Lee and husband Keith of Hornbeck, LA
