Obituary for Francis Annette Ensley
Annette Carruth Kinchen Ensley was born December 10, 1950 in Oakdale, LA. She passed away November 28, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her son, Clay Kinchen and her parents, Samuel and Avis Wellman Carruth. She leaves behind her son, Scott Kinchen; granddaughter, Ashlie Kinchen Dunn and husband Cory; great granddaughter, Camille Dunn; grandson, Mitchell Kinchen; sister, Peggy Berry and husband Randy; brother, Daniel Carruth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Annette was a unique, brilliant individual. She scored so high on an IQ test in 4th grade that all the teachers came to look at her. She thought she had done something wrong. Annette took 30 hours one semester at Northwestern State University, including intermediate and advanced accounting at the same time. She passed her CPA exam on the first try.
Annette worked as an accountant for FSLIC, FDIC, and various banks and hospitals. When employed by FDIC, she worked in Washington, D.C. for two years. She led a project to set up procedures in every FDIC office in the U.S. to implement the congressional bill requiring every section in FDIC to assess the risks and report to Congress.
Annette enjoyed needlepoint, gardening, and was an avid reader. She loved to travel especially to Europe. Her other passion was taking care of animals. There were all well fed and had heating pads in winter. Her current menagerie included two dogs, eleven cats, and six racoons. She gave with all her heart. She will be greatly missed. But we don’t despair, because one day we will all be reunited in our heavenly home.
Funeral services for Annette will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at LaCamp Church of God with Reverend Shawn Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in the LaCamp Church of God Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
