Obituary for Fannie Mae Salisbury
A graveside service for Fannie Mae Salisbury will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Leesville, LA with Reverend Joe Leonard officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held Saturday at Jeane’s Funeral Service, 100 E. Union St. Leesville, LA from 12:00 to 12:45 followed by a procession to the cemetery.
Mrs. Salisbury was born October 15, 1932 Quitman, LA and passed away February 9, 2021 in Leesville, LA at the age of 88. She worked at Leesville General Hospital and Byrd Hospital before she retired from Vernon Parish School Board after working as a cook at Vernon Elementary. She was a member of Greater Bethel A.M.E where she served faithfully as an usher. This was a position she greatly enjoyed. Mrs. Salisbury also enjoyed being outside planting and tending to her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Salisbury and Ollie Leonard Salisbury; siblings, Pearlie Mae, Jessie Mae, Gracie Mae, Willie Reese, and David Lee; and daughter-in-law, Myah Bass.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debra Tates and husband William of Houston, TX; LeeTanya Hope Bass of Irving, TX; and Robert L. Salisbury Sr. of Aubrey, TX,
grandchildren, Robert L. Salisbury Jr., Da’Von J. Salisbury, Dunyae Salisbury, Natalia M. Salisbury, Brittany N. Tates, William “B.J.” Tates Jr., Travis J. Tates, Marcus D. Bass and Stephen A. Bass,
and a host of nieces, nephews, children that called her “mama”, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and nephews.
