Obituary for Ema Jean Martin
Funeral services for Ema Jean Martin will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017, at First Baptist Church Anacoco, 4813 Port Arthur Ave. Anacoco, LA with Reverends Durhl Davis and Jason P. Kees officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco, LA.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29 at 5:00 p.m. for family and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for visitors at First Baptist Church, Anacoco.

Ema was born on March 12, 1935 and passed away on October 28, 2017 at the age of 82.
She graduated from Anacoco High School and was married on May 15, 1953 to Jack Martin. She was a lifelong resident of Anacoco and a faithful member of the Anacoco First Baptist Church where she was an active member of the choir, served on the benevolence committee, and was a founding member of Share and Care Ministry. She worked for the United States Post Office for twenty-six years and enjoyed spending time with her family, drinking coffee with friends, cooking, gardening, serving others in any way possible, and always had a song in heart.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Jack Martin; son Raymond Martin; grandson Christopher Martin; parents, Jethern and Edith McConathy; brothers: Jethern Jr., Kenneth, and Newton McConathy; sisters: Nancy McConathy, Jeanette Church, and Joyce Fencl.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Regina Kees and husband Lester of Anacoco, LA.
Daughter-in-law: Geneva Martin of Weatherford, TX.
Grandchildren: Courtney Martin of Garland, TX; Jason Kees and wife Heather of Anacoco, LA; Hilary Jett and husband Cody, of Leesville, LA.
Great grandchildren: Kathryn and Adam Kees.
Sister: Linda Jares, of Chicago, IL.
A host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Andress, Ray Horton, Chad Martin, Ricky Marze, Ricky Reese, and Charlie Strickland.
