Obituary for Eldon "Sonny" Wallett
Funeral services for Eldon Wallett will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019, at Simpson Assembly of God with Reverend Tully Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Comrade Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Visitation times for the family and friends of Mr. Wallett will be held at Simpson Assembly of God from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14th and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
Mr. Wallett was born November 14, 1934, and passed away on July 12, 2019, at the age of 84. He lived all of his life in the Vernon Parish area and worked as a heavy equipment operator. For almost twenty years, Mr. Wallet worked for T.L. James and also worked for Gilchrist. At one time, he was a local musician and played guitar and sang in a group with his brother and mother. He could often be found on his porch playing and singing. Mr. Wallett was an avid hunter and enjoyed raising horses, cows, and always owned a dog.
Mr. Wallett was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wallett; son, Don Wallett; daughter, Pat Robertson; parents, Ed and Eunice Wallett; brother, H.P. Wallett; and sister, Elvie Brady.
Left to cherish his memory are his grandsons, Michael Robertson and wife Tasha of Leesville, LA; Matthew Wallett and wife Lisa of Lena, LA; Patrick Robertson and wife Alaina of Leesville, LA; and Kevin Wallett and wife Ashley of Hot Springs, AR.
