Obituary for Dovie Hext Curtis
Funeral services for Dovie Hext Curtis will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Pleasant View Baptist Church, Hwy. 473, Hornbeck, LA at 2:00PM with Rev. John Lewing II and Rev. Kenneth Baggs officiating. Visitation will be at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM until time of service. Burial will follow in the Prewitt's Chapel Cemetery, Hornbeck, LA under the direction of Jeane"s Funeral Service. Ms. Dovie was born in Leesville, LA, to Rev. Joe and Dovie Hext and passed away on November 30, 2014 at the age of 73. She was a custodian at Hornbeck High School until her retirement and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she served on many committees. She loved her family and especially her grandkids. Also, she enjoyed playing Bunco and video games like Pac-man and Tetrus. Listening to country music, drinking coffee, and telling stories were all things she enjoyed doing. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Joe Curtis, Parents: Rev. Joe and Dovie Hext, Brother: W.D. Smith, Sisters: Evon Lee, Dorothy Browning, Audrey Bourque, Thelma Semons, Linda Faye Hext. She is survived by daughter: Debbie and Barry Formby, Anacoco, LA, Son: Billy Wayne and Patricha Curtis, Many, LA, Brother: Joe and Edwina Hex, Houston, TX, Sisters: Aubrey West, Deweyville, TX, Faxon Lee "Sissy" Ross, Singer, LA, Dona and Ed Dowden, Hornbeck, LA, Deloris and Bill Rogers, Hornbeck, LA Grandchildren: Joseph "Joe" Formby, Matthew Formby, Lindsay Curtis, Billy "Bo" Curtis, Lilah Curtis, Mikey Eilers, Richard Eilers, Brandi Eilers, Lacey and Matthew Lambert, Jennifer and Micheal Furlough, Steven and Linda Eilers Great Grandchildren: Meghan Barnard, Evan Eilers, Ian Eilers, Kyle Johnson, Allison Johnson, Maddie Furlough, Amie Johnson, Avery Lambert Host of nieces and nephews Pallbearers: Johnny Lewing, Jacob Lewing, Mikey Eilers, Joe Formby, Billy "Bo" Curtis, Matthew Formby Honorary Pallbearers: Donnie Parker, Garry Pridgen Words of comfort may be extended to the family at www.jeanesfs.com
