Obituary for Dorothy Jenelle Soto
Dorothy Jenelle Soto was born March 15, 1939, in Columbus, Georgia and passed away June 2, 2022, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 83. Her friends knew her as Nell, and she was a self-employed business owner for many years. Her businesses included F&N Carwash, The Bayou Restaurant, and for a short time, Catfish Hut. Nell attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church for many years.
Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Soto; daughter, Christine Davis; parents, Henry Earl Whitton and Elizabeth McVey Whitton; and siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Walter “Mack” McClellan and wife Wanda of Tampa, FL;
daughter, Alice Marie McClellan of Columbus, GA;
grandchildren, Alan McClellan; Amber McClellan and husband Andrew Massengill; Brett McClellan and wife Nicole; Sam Wise; Anne Wise and husband Erik Thompson; four great-grandchildren: AJ, Elliott, Maeson, and Eila:
brother, Bill Whitton and wife Bonnie of Olympia, WA;
sisters, Alice Sewell of Montgomery, Al and Dori Lapp of Columbus, GA;
and extended family members.
A memorial service for Nell will be planned for a later date.
