Obituary for Dorothy Ann Newton Wilson
Funeral services for Dorothy Ann Newton Wilson will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Hornbeck with Rev. Allen Brown and Rev. Jack Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Services.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Hornbeck from 5:00 – 9:00 PM.
Dorothy Ann Newton Wilson was born on December 6, 1944 in Shreveport, LA to Charles and Delphia Newton. She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School and attended East Texas Baptist University. She worked for Dr. Oosta in Many and also at Byrd Medical Center. Mrs. Wilson was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Hornbeck where she took care of the babies in the nursery and was the former choir director. She was a longtime member of the Hornbeck Optimist Club where she currently served as President and has held many offices. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Quilters Guild. She loved her grandchildren and cheering them on at all their activities. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Wilbur Wilson of Hornbeck, LA
Son: Loye Wilson and wife Molli of Hornbeck, LA
Brother: Charles Newton and wife Nancy of Dallas, TX
Sisters: Ruthie Dunn and husband Joe of Shreveport, LA, and Aline Blair Gates and husband Adam of Shreveport, LA
Grandchildren: Chas, Tylor, Carrie Maygen, and Lucas
