Obituary for Dorothy Jean Womack
Dorothy Jean Womack was born May 5, 1946, and passed away August 6, 2022, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was born and raised in Temple, Texas and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1965. Dorothy worked many years in the oil and gas industry as a supervisor at Exxon Mobile Oil.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Taft Womack Sr. and Christiana Hamilton; daughter, Cassandra Womack Gatewood; grandson, Melvin Morris Jr.; brothers, Taft Womack Jr., Daniel “Jimmy” Womack, Arthur Womack, and Johnny Womack; and sisters, Margaret Davis, Glory Womack, and Genevieve Greg.
Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Neikisha Womack of Leesville, LA, Michael Womack Sr. of Leesville, Jarvis Womack of Korea, and Gabriellea Perry of Mandeville, LA;
great-grandchildren, Saroya, Ryleigh, McKinley, Madeline, Nola, and Michael Jr.,
brothers, Willie Womack and Larry Womack;
and numerous extended family members.
Funeral services for Ms. Womack will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Jeane’s Funeral Service, 100 E. Union St. Leesville, LA 71446. Burial will follow in Leesville Memorial Cemetery on Pine Road in Leesville. A visitation will be held at Jeane’s from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
