Obituary for Donna Faye Maricle Phillips
Funeral services for Donna Faye Maricle Phillips will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Castor Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Nolde officiating. Burial will follow in Castor Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, May 9th from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Donna was born March 12, 1945, in Pitkin, Louisiana and passed away May 6, 2022, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 77. She lived in Vernon Parish for most of her life and worked as a cook for many organizations including Fort Polk and Vernon Parish School Board. She felt honored to work in the cafeteria at the Lions Camp. Donna was a faithful member of Castor Baptist Church for about 40 years and at one time served on their board. She devoted many hours of her time to the church singing in the choir and helping with Vacation Bible School. Donna was a master quilter and excellent seamstress. At one time, she was a member of the So Crazy Quilter’s club. She was also known for her delicious meals and especially her pies, biscuits, and rolls. Donna provided a loving home for her family and will be greatly missed.
Donna is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, William Henry “Billy” Phillips; parents, Pernal Maricle & Bessie Doyle Maricle; and siblings, Vernie Maricle, Garner Maricle Sr., Lorraine Newman, Russell Maricle, and Bruce Maricle.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Raymond Phillips and wife Colleen of Lake Charles, LA and Mark Phillips and wife Tammie of Stonewall, LA;
daughters, Dana Livings and husband Bee of Eagle, CO and Tyra Prell of Springdale, AR;
grandchildren, Lane Livings and wife Ashley, Laris Livings, Laden Livings, Madelyn Phillips, Bradden Phillips, Hope Prell, Brandon Prell, Zachary Phillips, and Joshua Phillips;
great grandson, Lance Livings;
sister, Billy Jean Ware of Lake Charles, LA;
and a host of extended family members and friends.
