Obituary for Donna Doreen Metcalf
Donna “Sissy” Metcalf, 54, went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2021. Sissy Metcalf was born in Pineville, Louisiana on September 8, 1966. She was the daughter of Earl “Buddy” James and the late April Faye James.
Sissy was a loving, caring, and sweet soul. She had the most infectious smile and laugh. She loved her husband, her mother and father, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She loved to work with special needs adults and her role play family. Family, especially her nieces and nephews, knew her as their Big Momma. No one will ever by like our Big Momma. Sissy never had children of her own. However, she enjoyed spending time and caring for her numerous nieces and nephews.
When you think of Sissy, please celebrate the good memories you had with her and remember that life is fragile and short and should always be lived to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her mother, April Faye James; niece, Brooklyn Paige Bourke; nephew, Wyatt Earl James; and sister-in-law, Cindy Lori Morgan James.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Thomas L. Metcalf; father, Earl Buddy James Jr.; brothers, Danny James (Edie) and Donny James (Patricia); sister, Delores Ann Bourke (Kevin); brothers, Dwight James (Glenda) and Darwin James (Sommer); and sister, Deanna Denise Hall (Thomas);
a galore of nieces and nephews starting with Danny James Jr. (Rhianna), Amanda Robles, Deidre James Golemon (Josh), Erin, Amy, Greg John Bourke (Amber), Bianca Ann Bourke, Kamryn Slade Bourke, Dwight James Jr., Keeley Shay James, Cecilia Faith James, Cheyanne Bernal (Cody), Hunter Cody James, Madison Paige James, Beau Preston James, and Isabella Lissette Lajaynise James (Jorden);
and a galore of great nieces and great nephews starting with Delia Miller (Dylon), Damon Allen Miller, Mark Bubba Robles, Haisley April James, Gracie Mae Golemon, Nathan Busby, Caden Bernal, Braxten Kade Northup, and Hudsen Kane Northup.
Visitation for Mrs. Metcalf will begin at Hicks United Pentecostal Church at11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 for immediate family. Friends will be received at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will continue until the service the time on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Greg Mortensen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Glass Window Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Bourke, Thomas Hall, Danny James, Donny James, Dwight James, and Darwin James. Honorary pallbearers will be Braydon Kelley, Danny James Jr., Dwight James Jr. Hunter James, Mark Robles, Beau James, Josh Golemon, Greg Bourke, Kamryn Bourke, Dylon Miller, Jorden Northup, Cody Bernal, Travis Richmond, and Harlon Hagan.
