Obituary for Donetta Nell Duncan
Here we are on the last day of Donetta being here with us on this earth. She waited a while knowing one day sooner than later it would be time to get to check out her mansion. She used to say it doesn't have to be fancy because whatever it is like she knew Jesus had great taste and he knew what she would like.
She was born on December 10, 1952. The first of 7 children born to Marjorie and Bert Hopkins. She had only one little sister Lenetta Bourque of Leesville and 5 brothers Bert Hopkins of Rosepine, Louisiana, Donnie Hopkins of Leesville, Louisiana, Calvin Hopkins of Leesville, Louisiana, Bobby Hopkins of Vidor, Texas, and John Hopkins of Graham, Texas. She also had an Oprah Winfrey brother. She found out about him when he was about 28. His name is Anthony Salazar of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Donetta was preceded in death by both of her parents, stepmother Letha, 2 brothers John and Donnie, and granddaughter Atiyana Duncan. Even though the siblings she was raised with called her bossy, they loved her, and she only prayed they know she loved them more. The love of her extraordinarily wonderful husband of 28 years were the best years of her life. Never a doubt she was spoiled. As he let her know she was always his queen. Some of the favorite things during her lifetime was sending mail, church, being a mom, and best of all being a grandma.
Donetta is survived by her husband Lawrence Duncan Jr of Leesville, Louisiana and her son David Ball and wife Jacqueline of Leesville, Louisiana. She also has grandchildren that she loved dearly Maci Ball of Oberlin, Louisiana, Chelci Ball of Leesville, Louisiana, Eddie Miller of Leesville, Louisiana, Tatiyana Duncan of Leesville, Louisiana, Tiyana Simms of Leesville, Louisiana, Aiyana Duncan of Leesville, Louisiana, Keatra Brown of Leesville, Louisiana, Janee' McQueen of Leesville, Louisiana, and Kingsley McQueen of Austin, Texas. She also had numerous nieces and nephews that she loved. Donetta was active in her church, and everyone knew her for her cards and gifts that they would receive in the mail from her.
She wants everyone to be happy and rejoice for her for she is with The King.
Donetta Nell Duncan passed away September 23, 2021, at the age of 68.
