Mr. Mitchell was born on September 13, 1942, in Leesville, LA and passed away on October 14, 2018, in Farmerville, LA at the age of 76. He was a 1960 graduate of Leesville High School and worked at Fort Polk in Civil Service for 27 years as General Equipment Maintenance Foreman. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Church of Christ and led music there for a while. In high school, he received numerous awards for singing and later in life he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing in a country band. For many years, Mr. Mitchell coached his son in a Little League baseball team called the Road Runners, and they rose to be All Stars. He enjoyed fishing (aka best fish fryer ever! And won numerous bass tournaments), hunting, water skiing, and golfing with his family and friends. Some might not know, prior to all this, he was a rodeo clown. Mr. Mitchell had many talents under his belt, but the one he’s most proud of is marrying his beloved high school sweetheart and the loving family that generated from this union. His highest achievement is returning to his love for the Lord and finding inspiration and saving grace in God’s word.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents Paul Lawson Mitchell aka Patoge, Lucille Mitchell Emmons and Step Father Alton Emmons aka Pop Alton, and brother Ronnie Mitchell and surviving wife Lynda of Pickering, LA.
