Obituary for Delores Ann Thomas

Delores Ann Thomas, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, was born March 17, 1951, to the late Merlin Coleman and the late Willie Coleman in Gibsland, Louisiana.

The most important thing to Delores was her family. The only thing more important was her faith. She loved the Lord and lived her life as such.

Delores departed this life quietly and peacefully from grace to glory on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. She departed this life into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Coleman; mother, Merline Coleman; and brother, Willie Coleman Jr.

Delores leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughters, Tonya A. Kennedy (Octavious) and Angela R. Dorsey (Dwayne); precious grandchildren, Shonte Kennedy, Dionte Kennedy, Randi Kennedy, Joseph Cooper Jr., Naya Cooper, and Deandre Cooper; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Ny’Asia, Adonis, and precious princess Kennedi; sisters, Diane Johnson and Teresa Coleman; brother, Frank Coleman Jr. (Ronnie); uncle, Elmer James; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Delores will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Preach for the Right Evangelistic Ministry, 349 Vernon St. New Llano, LA with Reverend Joiner officiating. Burial will follow in Leesville Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
