Obituary for Debra "Debbie" Sue Prewitt
Funeral services for Debra “Debbie” Sue Prewitt will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Jeane’s Funeral Service, 100 E. Union St. Leesville, LA with Reverends Carl Smith and George Treutlein officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Jeff Ross, Bobby Harvey, Robert Harvey, Willis Prewitt, David Hammerick, Isaac Hammerick, Richard Knippers, and Mikey Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Ray Prewitt Jr. and Johnny Rivers. A visitation will be held at Jeane’s on Friday, September 16th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Debbie was born July 2, 1960, in Leesville, Louisiana and passed away September 14, 2022, in Leesville at the age of 62. After graduating from Hornbeck High School in 1979, she attended cosmetology school but worked mainly as a caregiver. Debbie enjoyed reading, find-a-word puzzles, adult coloring books, and in her earlier years, watching wrestling. Watching hummingbirds and collecting them was something she loved to do. Debbie loved her family and served them and her community throughout her life.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Ray Prewitt and Betty Sue Hardcastle Prewitt; brothers, Cecil Prewitt and Randy Prewitt; and nephew, Chad Prewitt.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Ben Prewitt and wife Diana of Hornbeck, LA;
aunt, Pat Nolen of Anacoco, LA;
and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews as well as extended family members and friends.
