Obituary for Deborah Lee Dunn
A funeral service for Deborah “Debbie” Lee Knight Dunn will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Jeane’s Funeral Service, 100 E. Union St. Leesville, LA. A visitation will be held at Jeane’s from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The Vernon Council on Aging, 200 N. 3rd St. Leeville, will host a reception honoring Debbie after her funeral service. Wear what you feel comfortable wearing but Debbie would like for you to be colorful.
Debbie was born November 12, 1958, in Miami, Florida and passed away April 12, 2023, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 64. She worked for 25 years for the Vernon Council on Aging and was a vital part of the Meals on Wheels program. The elderly had a special place in her heart, and she was happy to make a positive impact on their lives. Debbie enjoyed the simple things in life like sitting on her porch watching birds. She found joy in nature and liked to garden.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, John Jasper Knight.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Bobby J. Jelks & wife Monique;
daughters, Rachel A. Spangler & husband Brian, Whitney D. Dunn & husband James Drumwright, and Mariah G. Hulsey & husband Daniel;
grandchildren, Emory, Breauna, Mariah, Chandler, Quinn, and Ophelia;
mother, Joan Gale Smithson Smith;
brother, John J. Knight Jr.;
sisters, Karen S. Alsept & husband Herbert, Wendy L. Winkler & husband Grady, and Suzanne M. Heil & husband Jerry;
and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
