Funeral services for Nina Deborah Smith (Debbie) will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Evans Congregational Methodist Church, Evans, LA under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Evans Congregational Methodist Church.
Nina Deborah Smith (Debbie), who loved to be called Nana, passed away December 1, 2020 in Lake Charles, LA. She was born in Leesville, LA on October 7, 1958, to Roy D and Norma Smith of Burr Ferry, LA. Debbie lived in Evans and Burr Ferry her entire life. She was a certified head start aid for years at Evans High School, and most recently a caregiver/sitter. Debbie loved to shop and spend time with her family. She enjoyed sewing, bingo. and loved her pets and her pet grandbabies. She had a beautiful smile and was a great joy to be around.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father Roy Smith, her son in law Joshua Collins, granddaughter Fallon Collins, nephew Charles Canary, and brother Roy D Smith.
Debbie is survived by her three daughters, Brandy Durbin and husband Tim of Lake Charles, LA, Chasity Colton and fiancé Klayton Kelly of Lafayette, LA, Jessi Collins and fiancé Devon Cox of Lake Charles, LA,
mother Norma Smith of Burr Ferry, LA,
12 grandchildren, Trent and Ella Durbin, Conner, Cameran, and Chason Colton, Brinnen Gordy, Jackson Collins, Shyla Cox, Aleigha, James, Daniel, and Kevin Kelly,
3 sisters Norma Worthy, Nancy Manuel, and Danette Barela,
1 brother Richard Smith,
close friend Robert Perkins, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
