Obituary for David Michael Leonard
First Class Petty Officer David Michael “Mike” Leonard will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017, with a graveside service at Mitchell Cemetery, located behind Crystal Springs Baptist Church. Visitation for family will be held at 9:00 a.m. and for friends at 10:00 a.m. at Crystal Springs Baptist Church, 4341 Hwy. 111 Anacoco, LA.
Mike passed away peacefully on November 3, 2017, in Macon, Georgia in the company of his beautiful and courageous wife, Judy, and their children, Kerri Jo and Brian Joseph. Mike is survived by his wife and children, along with siblings, Virgie, Richard, Douglas, Sarah, Melinda, and Linda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvanus and Velma and siblings, Henry and Glenda.
Before his astounding, successful, and decorated career in the United States Navy, Mike graduated from Leesville High School which was followed by Northwestern State University and Lamar University.
Although gone too soon, Mike has touched and inspired many . . . through his career, charisma, spur of the moment trips to the beach, deviled ham eatin, kool-aid plant havin, roller coasting ridin, cartoon watchin, Disneyworld pass havin, bbq lovin, old spice wearin, southern hospitality and faith, he will always be remembered. God, please ensure Mike stays his course.
