Obituary for David "Davey" Murriel Wilson
Funeral services for David “Davey” Murriel Farmer Wilson will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 1897 Rattan Road Florien, LA with Reverend Wayne Chance officiating. Immediately following the service, Mrs. Wilson will be laid to final rest next to the love of her life in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, April 8th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Davey was born January 16, 1937 in Shreveport, LA and passed from this life on April 3, 2021 in Shreveport at the age of 84. Davey loved books, reading, crocheting, watching sports on TV, playing card games, Farkle, and dominoes. She was devoted to her Savior and enjoyed spending time in His Word. She loved being a grandmother “MawMaw” and great grandmother “Big Maw”. Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA was blessed to have Davey as a secretary for almost 20 years before she retired in Hornbeck, LA.
Davey was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, E.J. “Buck” Wilson; parents, Emmett and Doris Farmer; sons, Buddy Wilson and John David Wilson; brother, Bob Lambert; and feline companion, Cry Baby.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jan Lee of Hornbeck;
grandchildren, John Lee and fiancé Wendy, Christy Singleton, Katelyn Wilson, and Mary Martin;
great grandchildren, Evan, Jenny, Charlie, Aiden, Liam, Cassie, Dustin, and Layla;
sister-in-law, Lana Lambert;
two sisters of the heart, Martha Stinson and husband Bill and Linda Weldon and husband Jerry;
and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
