Obituary for David "Bo" Lazine Harper
Funeral services for David “Bo” Harper will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at LaCamp Church of God with Bro. Shawn Waggoner and Bro. Dwayne Davis officiating. Burial will be held at LaCamp Church of God Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at LaCamp Church of God. Masks will be required at the church.
David “Bo” Harper was born on June 4, 1939, and passed away on September 7, 2021 at the age of 82 at home surrounded by his family. Bo was married to Carolyn E. Harper on June 30, 1962. They were married for 59 wonderful years. God blessed Bo and Carolyn with their daughter Teresa Harper Boswell in 1967. Bo raised his family many years by hauling pulpwood and later worked for the LA-Department of Transportation. In 1992, he retired with over 20 years of service. He later went to work for JRTC as a role player for eight years. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
Bo was a lifelong resident of Sand Hill. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for most of his life and in recent years attended LaCamp Church of God.
Bo Harper is remembered for always being a jolly and delightful man. There was always room at his table or porch swing for a hot cup of coffee and great conversation. He made everyone feel loved and appreciated. He loved to travel, take train rides, and go camping with his family. Arkansas was one of his favorite places.
Bo is preceded in death by his parents, William Preston Harper and Ethel Isabell Knight, sisters, Sarah Imogene Lewis, Ruby Bernadine Sigler.and infant son, Kelvin David Harper.
Bo is survived by his wife, Carolyn Harper;
daughter Teresa Boswell and husband CJ of San Augustine, TX;
grandchildren, Jessica Horton Pickard and husband Jerry of Hemphill, TX, Coy J Boswell and Aimee Boswell of San Augustine, TX;
one great grandson Lucas Pickard, soon to be great granddaughter Addalyne Greening;
and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Deters, Thomas Rector, Matt Smith, Keith Sigler, Trent Greening, Jerry Pickard, Coy J Boswell, Ronnie Lewis, and Chris Lewis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Smith, Arron Carlock, K.C. Robinson, and Raymond Robinson.
