Obituary for Darrell Lynn Hood
A graveside service for Darrell Lynn Hood will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Castor Cemetery with Reverend Daniel Warwick officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Jason Hood, Ian Hood, Michael Hood Sr., Catlin Hood, Mikey Hood, and Mason Hood. Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Hood, Mike Hood, and Larry Joe Brown.
He was born January 12, 1955, and passed away June 2, 2022, at the age of 67. For all his life, Darrell lived in Leesville in the Snuff Ridge area and was a graduate of Leesville High School. Before his retirement, he worked in construction in cement work. Darrell enjoyed a simple life and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper. He loved his family and liked to share their history.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Owen Hood and Johnnie L. Davis Herrin; brother, Robert Hood; and sister, Barbara Hood Herrington.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Nancy Hood of Leesville;
sons, Jason Hood, Michael Hood, Darrell “Ian” Hood, and Catlin Hood and wife Haley all of Leesville;
grandchildren, Michael, Alexis, Mason, Huxson, and Coleson Hood;
brothers, Michael Hood and wife Charlotte of Leesville and Milton Hood and wife Sherry of Texarkana, TX;
and a host of extended family members and friends.
