Obituary for Darrell Kenneth Sasser
Funeral services honoring the life of Darrell Kenneth Sasser will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Pisgah Baptist Church in Florien, LA at 1:00 PM with Rev. C.M. Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Pisgah Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Darrell Kenneth Sasser was born on May 30, 1938 in Glenmora, LA. He passed away on September 16, 2023, in his home at Toledo Bend at the age of 85. Darrell was a dedicated United States service man serving his country in both the navy and army. He started his family at Camp Beauregard and lived there many years. He completed 40 years of service before his retirement; upon retirement, he and his wife Julia Ann, moved to Toledo Bend. Darrell was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting and playing golf. He passed down his passion for the outdoors to his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful cook and enjoyed all his family getting together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl W. And Mertie Eddlemon Sasser, daughter, Sandy Ann Sasser, and sister, Patricia Sasser.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Julie Ann Thiels Sasser of Florien,
sons, Kenneth “Cannon Ball” Sasser and wife Cindy of Tioga, and Scott Sasser and wife Belinda of Marksville,
daughter, Candy Battey and husband James of Youngsville,
brother, Wendell Sasser and wife Patricia of Pineville,
grandchildren, Kyle Sasser and wife Rachel of Pineville, Sandy Britt of Jennings, Kody Sasser and wife Jessica of Pineville, and Faith Ann Little of Youngsville,
great grandchildren, Hudson, Maddox, Emma, Ava, Cason, Gauge, Harrison, Charlie, and Kannon.
