Obituary for Dalton "Buddy" Ray Goff

Dalton “Buddy” Ray Goff was born November 28, 1943, in Liberty, Texas and passed away October 25, 2022, in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 78. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and was a union member of the Operating Engineers. His ability to operate cranes, dozers, and excavators was appreciated by the men who worked with him. In 1960, Buddy was initiated into the Local 450 in Texas and retired in California where he was a member of the Local 3. He owned The Diamond G ranch in Pandale, Texas where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Buddy owned several dogs that he loved, but one had a special place in his heart – Miss Penny Goff. He would often spend time alone at his ranch with Penny as his companion. They would hunt, fish and enjoy quiet time together. Most of all, Buddy loved his family and would do anything for them.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Lee Goff and Louisa Asalete Keel Goff, daughter, Kayla Marie Goff, sister, Wanda Lee Goff Dykes, and half-sisters, Lillian Marguerite Smith and Pauline Sturrock.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Sue Rowzee Goff of Leesville, LA, son, Carl Lee Goff and wife, Cindy, of Placerville, CA, daughters, Suzette Benson and husband, Ryan, of Bayfield, CO and Alicia Bruno and husband, Vincent, of Jasper, TX, grandchildren, Leanne Waggoner and husband, Kenny, Jillian Goff, Matthew Ketchum, Michelle Langley and husband, Luke, Tyler Howell, Payton Howell, Layla Richardson, Anthony Bruno, Haylee Bruno and Carsen Bruno, great-grandchildren, Kinley, Brysen, Jager Ray, Cora, Anthony, Joey, Christopher and Scarlett, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
