Obituary for Dale Funderburk
A funeral mass for Dale Funderburk will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 2:30 PM at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 78 Price Road, Sieper, LA 71472. Burial will follow in Pine Island Cemetery, Simpson, LA under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 11:00 AM until time of service at St. Jude’s Catholic Church.
Dale Funderburk was born on December 18, 1944, in Elizabeth, LA to George and Macie Johnson Funderburk. He passed away on December 11, 2021, in Leeville, LA at the age of 76. He was an excellent mechanic and welder. He opened his own business, Funderburk’s 3 & 4 Wheeler Repair over 40 years ago. He loved to quilt and shared his creations with many of his family members. He also was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Macie Guillotte, father, George Funderburk, granddaughter, Carissa Gillis, brother, Everson Funderburk, and brother-in-law, Leonard Henderson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Brister Funderburk,
sons, George L. Funderburk (Bonita) of Otis, and Roger D Funderburk of Simpson,
daughters, Marie M Rabalais of Boyce, and Cindy A Funderburk of Lake Charles, LA,
brothers, James W Guillotte of Georgetown, and Edwin (Butch) Funderburk,
sisters, Georgia Parker (Leon) of Ball, Patty Henderson of Georgetown, Violet White of Natchitoches, and Sharon Condit of Velma, OK.
step dad, James Guillotte,
19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and a special family friend, Kitty White.
