Obituary for Cynthia Sue Martin

Cynthia Sue O’Banion Martin


Cynthia Sue O’Banion Martin passed away peacefully at the age of 73. Sue was born on June 14, 1949, in Leesville, Louisiana to Murphy and Pauline O’Banion.


Sue was the faithful and beloved wife of Randy Martin and the muchl-loved mother of Tracie (Tom) and Kaycee (Joe). Sue was the daughter of Pauline. She was the cherished grandmother of Samantha (Wesley), Tucker, and Gracelyn. She was also blessed to have Bryan, Brynlee, and Breelyn as a part of her joyous life. She was the dear sister of Coon (Alice). Sue also leaves behind her sister-in-law Kalen Martin and brother-in-law Donnie Martin and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and countless lifelong cherished friends.


She was a lifelong member of Cooper Baptist Church. Sue’s faith was an essential part of her life, she always sought to be a godly role model for her family and others.


Sue was preceded in death by her father Murphy O’Banion, her son Todd Randall Martin and grandparents Richard and Bessie O’Banion and George and Eula Bartlett.


Her infectious smile and her unconditional loving spirit will be missed by everyone.


Funeral services for Sue will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Cooper Baptist Church with Reverends Jason Nolde and Edgar Evans officiating. A graveside service will follow in Cooper Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Tom Evans, Joe LaCaze, Tucker Evans, Gracelyn LaCaze, Coon O’Banion, Michael O’Banion, Mike Berry, Buck Vinson, Larry Joe Brown, and Don Sneed. Honorary pallbearers will be Collin Martin, Zackery Rusmisel, Michael Funderburk, Kaden O’Banion, Landry Holt, Kaleb O’Banion, Daren Brown, and Richard Moore.


A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
