Obituary for Curtis Lee Thacker
A graveside service honoring the life of Curtis Lee Thacker will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 10:00 am at Hicks United Pentecostal Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his son Jody Thacker, brother in laws Randy, Roland, and Jerry McKenzie, nephew Chance Weatherford, friend AJ Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Shira, Sean Renyolds, Christian Credeur and .
Curtis was born on January 11, 1948, to Charles and Dorothy Thacker and passed away on April 13, 2024, surrounded by his family. Curtis was a truck driver for over 50 years and drove around eight million miles. He enjoyed cutting the grass and tending to his garden. Curtis was an easy-going person who didn’t have a serious bone in his body. His pride was his wife Cheryl and son Jody and every chance he got he talked about how proud he was of them.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorothy Thacker.
Curtis is survived by his wife of 29 years Cheryl McKenzie Thacker of Hicks, LA,
son, Jody Lee McKenzie Thacker (Angel) of Hicks, LA,
stepson, Jeremy Larriviere,
half-brother, Doug Housten,
brother and sister in laws, Roland and Tywonia McKenzie, Jerry and Tammy McKenzie and Randy and Belinda McKenzie,
father and mother-in-law, George and Peggy McKenzie,
and a host of nieces and nephews.
