Obituary for Crystal Dawn Cook
Crystal Dawn Cook, 43, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017.
Crystal was a 1992 graduate of Pickering High School and a long-time resident of the Fayetteville, NC community and worked within the Cumberland County School System. She actively worked with the Care Clinic and Party with a Purpose, as well as supporting Cause for Paws and the Cape Fear Cancer Center, the latter of which she was a cancer patient of for almost 12 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Cook; a daughter, Megan Cook; a son, David Michael Cook, all of Fayetteville, NC; mother, Roxann Guillory Dailey of Leesville, LA; father, John Herring (Pam) of Thailand; one sister, Jessica Haymon (Kenny); nephew, Jace Haymon; step-brother, Artino Komsuprom of Leesville; step-sister, Annie Lankford of Houston; grandparents, Alfred and Ethel Guillory of Leesville; and godmother, Hazel Guillory of Ville Platte, LA.
Preceding her in death was: step-father, Donald Dailey of Cottonwood, LA; infant son, Matthew Cook; in-laws, Roy and Emma Cook of Leoti, KS, and godfather, Raymond Guillory of Ville Platte, LA
Crystal leaves behind many loved ones who will remember her for her strength and grace, and she leaves knowing the positive impact she has left on them and the world in which she lived.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 3255 Belview Road Leesville, LA. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Mt. Bethel, and burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Officiating will be Bro. Richard Partridge, Bro. Morris Goins, and Bro. Terry Ward.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Cook, David Cook, Van Bush, Timothy Guillory, David Abel, and Cody Abel. Honorary pallbearers will be James Fontenot, Robert Johnson, Cody Fontenot, and Robert Gierisch. Special recognition goes to Father Jason Vidrine of Crowley, LA, Jeane’s Funeral Service, and Mt. Bethel Baptist Church for all their help.
The family encourages donations be made to the Cape Fear Valley Caner Center, 1638 Owen Dr., Fayetteville, NC 28304, or to the Mt. Bethel Relay for Life Team, 436 Belview Lane, Leesville, LA 71446. Checks can be made out to the American Cancer Society.
