Obituary for Cora Mae Trull Drury
Funeral services for Cora Mae Trull Drury will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Jackson Chapel Church of Christ with Preacher Ricky Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Trull Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Cora was born July 1, 1944, in Leesville, Louisiana and passed away February 3, 2022, in her home in Leesville at the age of 77. In 1962, she graduated from Pickering High School then began her long career at Fort Polk. For over forty years, Cora worked at Fort Polk as Chief Financial Officer first for ROTC then as Chief Financial Officer for MWR. She lived in the Leesville area all her life and was a member of Jackson Chapel Church of Christ. Her hobbies included traveling, gardening, and collecting things like Barbies, depression glass, and antique jewelry. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll Gibson Trull and Annie Mae Welch Trull; siblings, Carroll Trull, Carolyn Taylor, Glen Trull, Catherine Bernheimer, and Sue Bailey; and brother-in-law, George Bernheimer.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joanna Drury Tyler and husband Wayne and Judith Drury Prather;
grandchildren, Heather Drury, Caleb Cox. Ricky Cox, Tyler Tomica and wife Kendra, and Kristin Clemons and husband Oliver;
great-grandchildren, Lillian Cox, Greyson Holzapfel, Salem Cox, Bray Clemons, Hadley Clemons, Zoe Richardson, and Nolan Richardson;
brother, George “Firpo” Trull;
sister-in-law, Margie Trull;
brother-in-law, Neil Bailey;
and a host of extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Heather Drury, Caleb Cox, Tyler Tomica, and Oliver Richardson.
