Obituary for Clyde Josephine Clemons
Funeral services for Clyde Josephine McGuire Clemons will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Jeane’s Funeral Chapel, 100 E. Union St., Leesville, LA. Burial will follow at Heritage Rowe Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Jeane’s Funeral Chapel from 5:00 -9:00 PM.
Clyde Josephine McGuire Clemons was born November 17, 1923 near Thorton, AR to Lula Elizabeth and James Thomas McGuire. She passed peacefully in her sleep on May 17, 2017 at the age of 93 years and 6 months. She was known as “Jo” to her friends and simply “MawMaw” to family and many others. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, being the matriarch of 5 living generations. She loved the outdoors especially fishing and family gatherings. She also enjoyed bingo, card games, and cherished sitting around the table together with loved ones. Her giving, kind nature and ability to share a hearty laugh will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Ms. Clemons was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Samuel E. Clemons, grandson – Dustin Shawn “DC” Clemons, brother, and nine sisters.
She is survived by her daughters: Peggy Bailey/husband Rodger of Leesville, LA, and Tracy Leigh Clemons of Leesville, LA
Sons: Bobby Joe Clemons/ wife Gail of Leesville, LA, Rocky Clemons/wife Phoebe of Leesville, LA, and Tony Clemons/wife Delores of Riverton, WY
Grandchildren: Terry, Kelly, Stacey, Scooter, BJ, KC, Amanda, Reba, Cody, and Tanner
Great-grandchildren: Tyler, Dakota, Shelby, Jonah, Haley, Kayne, Kyla, Hunter, Trip “BJ III”, and Reagan
Great-great grandchildren: Ramona Claire and Ruby Elizabeth
Host of nieces and nephews
