Obituary for Christopher Louis Nelson
Funeral services for Christopher Louis Nelson will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Florien, LA with Reverends Ottis Branam and Wilton Anthony officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 15th beginning at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of service on Wednesday.
Christopher Louis Nelson was born on November 16, 1940, in Clare, LA to Christopher Adam Nelson and Willie Elma Evans Nelson. He passed away on May 12, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. Chris accepted Christ at the age of 15 and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a 1958 graduate of Pisgah High School and served his country in the United States Air Force. Chris worked many years as a truck driver until he had a stroke at age 50. He loved the woods and outdoors and enjoyed riding his four-wheeler with his lifelong friend, Jerry Byrd.
Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his parents and special grandson, Jeffrey Alex Choate.
