Obituary for Cheryl Stanford Rivers
Funeral services for Cheryl Stanford Rivers will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 10:00AM at the Zwolle United Pentecostal Church with Reverend Raynes officiating. Burial will follow in Ebarb Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Austin Slay, Harmon Slay, Sarah Slay, Lee Brandon, Tim Lewis, and Clay Kelly. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Michael and Matthew Slay, Austin Kelly, and Mitchell Parker.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, beginning at 4:00 PM until time of service on Tuesday at Zwolle United Pentecostal Church.
Cheryl Stanford Rivers was born on August 26, 1950, to Alvin and Lessie Miller Stanford in Opelousas, LA. She passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at her home in Zwolle at the age of 73. Cheryl was a loving and generous lady, but once she set her mind to something, she did not change it. She enjoyed going outdoors and spending time with her family. She loved her church and attended Zwolle United Pentecostal Church. Rain, her dog, was her sidekick and she loved him very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jimmy Rivers, brothers, John MacAllen Standford Sr., Patrick Stanford, Issaac Stanford, sister, Bertha Stanford, granddaughter, Kelly Holder, son in law, Mitchell Parker, and son, Jimbo Rivers.
She is survived by sons, Jason Rivers of Baton Rouge and Dustin Manuel of Portland, OR;
daughters, Paula Parker of TN; Mona and Donnie McGregor of Baton Rouge; Tammy and Mike Robin of Baton Rouge; Joy and Shannon Douglas of Pitkin; Arlene Rivers of Baton Rouge; Samantha and Matt Slay of Zwolle; and Patty Jo Manuel of Baton Rouge;
a host of grandchildren, great grands, and 2 great great grands.
