Obituary for Charles Stimac
Funeral services for Charles Lea Stimac will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Castor Baptist Church, 2057 Slagle Road Leesville, LA 71446, with Reverends Walter Collins, Duhrl Davis, and Tri Evans officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, 128 Pine Hill Road Leesville, LA 71446.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Castor Baptist Church and again from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
Charles was born on April 26, 1926, and passed away on May 30, 2017, at the age of 91. He was a life-long resident of Vernon parish. Charles was an avid fisherman, hunter, and farmer. He enjoyed working with his cattle and was an active member of Vernon parish Cattleman’s Association. Charles was also a Mason and a member of Eastern Star. Spending time with his family was important to him and Charles will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, John and Della Stimac; two brothers; and five grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Charles Stimac and wife Kay of Dugspur, VA and Jon Stimac and wife Mary of Central, LA
Daughters: Elizabeth Myrick and husband Larry of Clinton, LA, Cassandra Stimac and husband Bobby Taylor of Jackson, LA, and Rhonda McGlothlin and husband Jerry of Leesville, LA
Thirteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren
Special nephews: Perry Odom and Austin Mitchell
Numerous other cousins, friends, and family
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Justin Shankle, Josh Shankle, Jason Stimac, Casey Stimac, Chris Williamson, and Charles Williamson.
Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandchildren: Jackson Shankle and Caelan Stimac
