Obituary for Charles Randall "Randy" Browning
A memorial service for Charles Randall “Randy” Browning will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Polk Memorial Episcopal Church in Leesville, LA with Father Bill Phillips officiating. Burial will take place in Craig Cemetery in Pineville, LA. A visitation for the family and friends of Mr. Browning will be held on Saturday, at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Randy was born on May 29, 1953, and passed away on December 20, 2018, at the age of 65. Along with his family, he moved to the Leesville area in 1963. After graduating from Leesville High School in 1971, Randy went to work for the Kansas City Southern Railroad until his retirement in 1992. After his retirement, he attended Lamar Salter College taking the carpentry class and graduating with honors in 1997. Randy was a Junior Warden, and faithfully served for 21 years, at Polk Memorial Episcopal Church.
You could always find Randy working on a new project in his shop on Anacoco Lake. When he wasn’t in his shop, you could find him on the ballfield umpiring baseball and softball games. Randy also “enjoyed” going on RV trips with his family and serving up his famous pancakes for breakfast.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Polk Memorial Episcopal Church, Leesville or St. Michaels Episcopal Church, Pineville.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy Browning and Violet Russell Browning, brother Keith Browning, sister Susie Browning Golden, and stepson Wesley Ward.
Left to cherish their memories of him are his wife of 21 years Sabra McKneely Browning,
sons Obie Ward and wife Stacy and Jerod Ward and wife Rachel all of Pineville
daughter Shanna Martinez of Leesville
brother Kirt Browning and wife Cheryl of Leesville
sisters Kay Birdwell and husband Rusty of Buchanan Dam, TX, Lora Monical and husband Bob of Leesville, and Judy Clark of Olmstead, IL
