Obituary for Carl Douglas Hancock, Sr.
Graveside services for Ret. SFC Carl Douglas “Doug” Hancock, Sr., will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Central Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Jeane’s Funeral Chapel, Leesville, LA.
Carl Douglas “Doug” Hancock, Sr. was born on January 8, 1949, in Repton, Alabama, to Clarence R. and Alice White Hancock. He passed away on March 29, 2019, in Leesville, LA at the age of 70. He had a great work ethic that started young as a paper boy for the Pensacola News Journal. He then worked for Web Electric in Pensacola, FL before enlisting in the military. He served his country for 22 years – 2 as a Marine and 20 in the Army. Upon retirement, Doug used his GI bill to attend Central Louisiana Technical Community College and completed the carpentry program. He then spent many years working in Vernon Parish doing remodel/construction work. He used his talents to provide may hours of labor to the Vernon Council on Aging building. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and over his lifetime completed many beautiful makeovers for himself and his buddies to enjoy. He loved his family, friends, and dog “Baby Girl”. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Earnestine Jordan Hancock, brothers, Clarence Wayne Hancock, Sr. and Hoarce Lee Hancock, and sisters, Edna Louise Cartwright and Brenda Faye Hancock.
He is survived by his daughter, Katrina Shores (Del) of Anacoco, LA
